Story 2, Objective 4a broken? (spoilers!)

By Pnopf, in Mansions of Madness

Hi!

We've played story 2 yesterday and the investigators couldn't get to clue 4. I checked everything for about 10 times and couldn't find the mistake. So maybe somebody can help me out here.

I played the keeper and answered the questions for story 2 (4a, 3b, 2a, 1b) built the map placed the seeds and everything. When we started to play i saw that the investigators had to get in the study (clue 3b, locked cabinet) to get to clue 4a (secret passage, brass key, puzzlebox). In the chapel there is a ladder that leads to Clue 2, so that would appear later.(chasm, Clue 2a) and there's no other way to the secret passage.

So the investigators are trapped and can't do anything.

Maybe I overlooked something or this story is broken with objective 4a.

I believe you are treating Locked Cabinet as a Lock card, when it is an Obstacle card. You can get in rooms with those, just cannot get the exploration cards below them ntil you solve the obstacle

There is free passage from the Chapel to the Secret Passage through the Study/Library.

Argh, you're right. I clearly overlooked that.

Thank you very much.

my first post on this forum had me bowing my head in shame as I treated obstacle cards as lock cards...on the same map too!

game flows so much better when those cards are treated as the right things :)

yeah, ruined the evening for me, because i was searching for a placement or Keeper Guide Error.

Played the same story with objective 4b yesterday and everything went fine until the end. Misread the win conditions for the investigators and thought that they automatically win, when they get Clue 1. Spawned the Chthonian 5 turns before the end and the investigators ignored him and went for the clue. So I won by mistake.

Hey, don't feel bad. I made a room inaccessible on the same story... we all scratched our heads about how they were supposed to get in it and it turned out that I had put the tile on backwards.

Not my brightest moment.

Which tile?

Ceremony room scenario two. It made the ceremony room inaccessible.
