1) Can a normal MIU be used as a MIU weapon interface?
2) What do you have to mount the weapon system on, armor? another cyber system? All I've heard is "shoulder mounted"

From how it reads to me, they're two seperate things, hence their seperate listing. The standard MIU seems to be the 'software' component, with the Weapon Interface being a more limited part, like the plug 'n play (or should I say, run 'n gun ;D)
It sounds like it's placement is anywhere, fluff-wise. The Living Errata does mention that it's reasonable to allow as high as a Basic weapon mounting (unless you have yourself linked up to a Servitor, carrying your multi-melta).
Nope, MIUs and Weapon MIUs are totally different, the MIU allows you to better access technology, cogitators, vehicles, starships, etc. The Weapon MIU is the one that allows you to mount a weapon on your shoulder and fire it as a free action.
