New 1/48 Dust Models from Hobbylink Japan

By rwwingate, in Dust Tactics

Found this link from a different forum. They've got a small walker named Otto, a bulldozer bladed walker called Bergeluther and a US walker with a crane called a Mickey ARV.

It looks like the models are all the painted delux versions. I have no idea if they have cards, (probably not) and they certainly won't be "legal" from a FFG standpoint, but they certainly look cool and they're on sale!

Thanks for the link. It looks like there is a Baking Dog on back order not listed in your link. It looks pretty cool.

I saw these on Dakka and wanted to jump on em but...do they have the cards to play?

Didnt see the barking dog till now and that thing looks sick!

I ordered them, I dont know if they do or don't have cards. If they don't then I'm making some and they'll be on my blog, either way they'll be on my blog. What do you think the rules should be for these weapons if they don't have cards. I was thinking unlimited tank head and self repair for the mickey arv.

I'm confused. Are these made under licence from FFG, whats the situation?

FFG only has certain rights to the Dust universe Dust Games is the full control. They made the models probably for a convention or something and had extras to sell to this store and prob some other ppl.

I wouldn't say that Dust Games has "full" control anymore. The distribution deal seems to give FFG substantial input with respect to the direction of the game. I think the fact that the initial special models like the Jagdluther came with a card, but were declared non-game legal by FFG shows that in terms of the game rules, FFG is in charge. I assume that these models are either something left over from their earlier partnership with AEG or (my hope) a sign of what is due from future expansions. So even if these models do come with cards, you should probably treat them like 40K models from forgeworld and get your opponents permission before using them.

agreed. I just ment the model itself not how it reflects to the game. the rules for these would apply in the same way as any of the rules i make for my blog anyways. But you could almost make the Baking dog have the mortar on the front and make it count as a steel rain

I'm sure they won't be legal until the apropriate expansion is released which should be the second one after OP Cyclone at least thats how I figure it until then see you on the battlefield.

End of Line....

Put out cards for all the walkers except the Otto want to wait for the russians to come out b4 i make the card.
