Need Players - DFW, TX

By jesterhawk, in Battlestar Galactica

Hello,

My kids got me the game for Christmas and I was excited. I have read the rules and can't wait to play. I emailed all my friends and talked to everyone I know and found out that no one is that great of a fan to want to play. My family will play with me "If they have too" but they are not as interested as I am. So, I was wondering if there are any players out there in the DFW, TX area that maybe we can get together and get a game night going?

Don't pitch it as a Battlestar Galactica game then. It's not like the Harry Potter game or something where you're quizzed on what you remember from the books. People who haven't seen the show enjoy the game.

Yeah, I haven't seen knowledge of the show really affecting anyone's enjoyment. Pitch it on the plot if you have to. "We're the last of the human race trying to find a new home and the evil cyborgs are trying to wipe us out. Guess what? One of us is secretly an evil cyborg!"

Hello Jesterhawk,

I live in the DFW area. We just played our 1st game at a friends house in Rowlett. There was 4 of us (my friend, his girlfriend my wife and me). We want to get up to 6 players if we can.

So here is your secret plan -- invite Darth Paul and friends to your house to play the game, and play it where the rest of your family can see and hear what is going on. The next time, they might be the ones asking you if they can play.

Well, that does sound like a plan.

I could get my wife to play. And I could probably get my two girls out of my three kids to play (ages 14 and 12 because the 6 year old son is too young) if I asked. They would have no reference (the kids) but they would probably play. I was just looking to see if I could get some adults to play.

Oh, but yes, Darth Paul, you are most welcome to come over and play :)

Check out http://www.dallasgames.com/ for info on our game group.

Just this Tuesday we had TWO games of this going on at the same time. It's quite popular with the group; you won't have any trouble finding opponents.
