Posting New Casebooks

By OldManWhateley, in Fan Creations

I am currently working on a trio of casebooks for Arkham Investigations and want to ask what would be the best method of posting the relevant info here on the forum. With the new forum format, I see no option to upload files so I can post either word douments or even the Strange Eons files. Any suggestions?

I personally prefer the .eon files.

The problem is that, on the new forum, you can't upload files, even .eon files.

Upload them somewhere like megaupload.com then post the link.

Megaupload is a good idea. I prefer the EON files to easiest translation to spanish. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Greetings from Spain.

Ah, yes I will be using Megaupload for the files, but was hoping to post the files in pdf form for people that do not have Strange Eons. I guess I can post the files in .eon form and pdf. I should be finished with the case over the next day or two and will upload in a new thread. I would appreciate feedback on it after I post it - it will help in wiring the next two if I have some feedback.

Hello to Spain!

I'd also prefer eon files but I'm not going to complain if you do them as pdf's gran_risa.gif . As soon as my group has completed the Horror League we'll try some of the case books.

I have posted my first case book in .eon format, but I have decided, for the future case books, to post them in both pdf and .eon for everyone's ease of access. Please do check out the first case and send along any feedback. I have begun on the next case book, and hope to have the first draft completed in a week or two.

Another option that may be of interest to some is the Case Book Player plug-in for Strange Eons. This allows you to play a case book full screen on a computer with no need to print out the case. It shows one "paragraph" or other event at a time, and you just click on a choice to read the next paragraph. It uses large print text to make it easy to read when sitting around a gaming table. If you have a laptop available or you have a desktop near your gaming area, I suggest giving it a try. It's easier than flipping through the case book by hand.

In addition to running it from Strange Eons, you can create a standalone JAR file that will run the case in the player on any computer with Java 6 installed (no need to have SE on the computer).

Also, it includes a special play testing option that automatically records the game session, makes a list of paragraphs that were not tested, and allows the testers to type in notes at any time.

Cheers,
Chris

I'm still new to Arkham, and I wanted to ask, what is a casebook? I've not seen anything like that in the official content. Am I missing it? Is it something from the Arkham Horror League? I think my group and I would be interested in casebooks, but I would like to know more about them. If anyone could point me in the right direction to find out more, I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi, is there a link to your casebook uploads or am i missing it? I'd love to try them out.

Cheers.

This may be a completly stupid question but is there any way to play through the casebook without printing it out and flipping through it? That is, can you play through it with Strange Eons and the .eon files? I haven't played through any of the casebooks yet so I'm not very familar with them.

Another question, where else can you find casebooks? I just happened upon the Dark Dreams of Dagon thread on the fan creation page ( http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=113&efcid=1&efidt=44118 ). I know about the Arkham Investigations page, but it doesn't seem like anything has been added to it for a while. I wondered if they were being uploaded in a different place now.

Thanks.

The Case Book Player plugin for Strange Eons is what you are looking for.
