Pit Fiends

By StormHand2, in Talisman Rules Questions

When you arrive at the spot on the board right before you can attempt to gain the Crown of Command, you must fight a random number of fearsome Pit Fiends. Now, I have a question: In the event you get more than one Pit Fiend, do you fight them all in the same turn, or do you fight them each on separate turns? Please advise.

You fight them all in the same turn. If you lose any of the single battles, you lose life and your turn ends. On the next turn you must fight the remaining pit fiends, or you can decide to turn back and walk one space a turn without encountering the spaces until you reach the Plains of Peril.

What is the point in fighting several pit fiends with 4 str one by one in same turn when you probably have 10+ str?? I mean you will nuke and **** them all without any effort.

Because you're going via the Craft path so pumping yourself up to Str 10 (from starting Str 2) takes too long, if you wait that long, someone else will get to the Crown first. Generally you can easily go with Str 6, especially if you have a weapon for battle. And if your Str is 10+, why are you taking the Craft path and not the Str path (where admittedly, Werewolf is an equally weak speedbump)?
