Me and my friends played a game of BSG today, using Pegasus and Exodus expansions.

A couple of questions came up, that didn't seem to be covered by the FAQ. Any help with these would be most appreciated;

1) If the Hangar is Damaged, what happens if someone attempts to activate Un-manned vipers to launch unmanned vipers?

i.e. The CAG, for instance, wants to use the ability to activate a viper, and then get another action. Problem is there are no vipers in play, and the Hangar is damaged. What happens?

2) How exactly does the line of succession work? When someone looses their title does it pass to the Next in Line, or to the Highest on the Line?

i.e. William Adama is Admiral, but looses the position because they're in the brig. Helena Cain is in play. Does she become Admiral, or does it pass to the next person below Adama?

Again. Any help will be very much appreciated.

1. I know it seems wrong, but unmanned vipers can be launched via an effect that activates a viper, even if the hangar deck is damaged. A damaged hangar deck only makes it hard for piloted vipers to get out in space.

2. The line of succession checks highest, not next. So if a middle-of-the-pack character has the title, it'll go up before it goes down.

1) seems a little illogical, but okay.

2) really? Seems a little pointless having a long Line of Succession when only the top 2 or 3 characters will ever really be in contention.

We've previously played that it always went to the next down, which was more enjoyable for me at least. If that's not the case I'll let my group know and we can decide if we want to house rule it or correct our mistake...

Well, you need the long list as the top contenders will not always be in play.

In the last game we played We went from Tori, Gaeta, Apollo, and Cari (me) one round down to just Gaeta and Cari the next because of cylons revealing and a sympathizer. Suddenly Gaeta found himself the Admiral, President, and CAG. Moments later he pulled a crisis that made him give away all of his title and lowly little Cari was Queen of Everything.

Our house rule requires the hangar undamaged to launch vipers of any kind. . .
