New to Anima with a few questions.

Something to also keep in mind is that each attack made by a mook also must be defended against. As long as you continually make your Magic Projection rolls, you'll be ok. But suffer enough attacks, and some will slip through that shield, even if they can't break it.

Thank you both for the quick reply.

Im currently working on masterying Ki techniques before I delve into magic, which brings me to the point of making a ki technique.

So I want Fighter McStabberson to make an area attack that can quickly kill a crowd around him with a swing of his two handed sword.

I get all the rules for making them save one, Maximum Ki points.

So lets say my total ki in all my characteristics is 30.

I want to make this technique as powerful as it can be so I spend all 30 on the technique. That means that I would have to purchase more Ki points with DP if I wanted to make additional techniques correct?

Also, is there a maximum number of Ki points I can have? Or is the characteristic base just that, a base and I can go ``hog wild`` and spend as much as I can(while keeping in with the splitting of DP rules in character generation) on ki points?

Also for the Ki point cost;

Where it says Primary cost x and Secondary cost y, I take it to mean that Primary cost X is when the technique is used as the base, and Secondary cost y is used when applying it as another effect?

Don't have my book so going off memory here.

Right. Say you have 9 con, you start with 9 con ki. You can than buy as much as you want provided you have the DP. Remember though that ki abilities come out of the primary combat area so your limited on how much DP you can spend there (probably 50-60%).

As for primary/secondary effects. Your technique has 1 primary and I don't think there is any limit of secondary affects. Your primary effect if what your technique is mainly about. So say for instance your building a technique that does area damage, can damage incorporeal creatures and gives you a +50 bonus on your attack roll. The area effect damage (first effect) would be the primary effect, and the other 2 would be secondary effects.

Artifact and Energy Attack question time!

So one of my players wants to play a Jedi like character and of course wants a light saber equilvalent.

Looking at the rules an energy weapon would only be a level 1 artifact. My question is, does this feel right for the cost?

Secondly, since she has an energy weapon, can people parry her attacks with mundane equipment and can she in turn parry them?

1 - Does 1CP allow for an energy weapon? That depends on the campaign. I would say no in mine, but that is because magic items are rare. The less rare they are the stronger artifacts should be.

2 - yes they can, but they have a higher chance to break.

Well this is our first time playing so I'm not modifying anything yet. Gonna let the vanilla game go its course.

I was baising it off of the Ki and Psychic powers where accessing Energy attacks is only a level one.
