Weapon Skill Specialization:Parry

By guest461286, in WFRP Rules Questions

Any ideas of how the Parry Specialization for Weapon Skill works?

From the FAQ

Several skills indicate specialisations most commonly associated with the Dodge, Parry, and Block active defences. These specialisa-
tions do not afect the use of the active defence cards.
However, if the GM asks the player to make a skill check based on dodging, parrying, or blocking something (such as in a case outside
of a direct incoming attack directed against the character) the extra fortune die would be added to the dice pool.
These specialisations are noted in the skill descriptions because a particular specialisation may be a pre-requisite for certain action
cards in the future.

I allow my players to specialize in: "Parry Natural attacks", "Parry non-fast weapons", "Parry fast weapons", "Dodge Misiles" etc...

And then convert 2 misfortune dice to a purple die, thus it's not as potent as a Misfortune die, but still helps...

Yeah, it's a house rule, and more rules to handle, but I only have one player who's taken such a spec so far (Weapon skill specs they use for weapons, Resilience they use to boost disease resistance and such, and none of my PC's have coordination trained).

The "What Dodge Specialization do?"-thread in this same forum kind of cover a discussion on the parry, dodge and block specializations. Check it out. :)

Thank you very much!
