About Daedalus and Asteros...

By frank the tank2, in Tannhauser

I know this game is already, for lack of a better word "insane" but how does the Daedalus expansion differ in rules compared to the current maps? I ask because I've also read that Asteros is better for these maps yet I also wonder how does he fit in, being really "out there" even for this theme.

I'm suprised no one has answered you yet.

Rule wise the new expansion fit well and only adds a couple of map specific mechanics. Stylisticly the Labrynth fits well in the Tann-vers as it was created by the original Tannhauser artist, my only complaint is that like the other original maps it is way out of scale when compaired to the figures. If you look close a skeleton in one of the corners is over 12 feet long (in scale). The Gevudan map is by a very good game artist who is "new" to Tannhauser, and while some stylelistic differences are apparent it still "fits" well. The main issue is that it has around 25 less path circles than avarage. And personally I could do without the fire.

As for Asteros, he is very cool, way overpowered, and sticks out like a sore thumb. If this was the direction Tannhauser was always intended to go in then I wish we had be eased in to it by some "smaller" characters, or some more substantial story before being smashed over the head with this Minoan Meatcleaver, but he does make for an itneresting addition.

If you have any specific questions, post them, and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks a bundle.

At this moment I'm waiting on Asteros in the mail. Should be an interesting addition. As for the maps, I'll wait on them for now since I'm saving the moneythe current maps are still doing me/us well.

Follow up question: I've read that there's a "solo scenario", can someone please clarify what that is?

Also as a follow up, I've got Asteros and dam... he's one powerful beast, I'll give him that!
