Broken and backwards weapons

By KevlarBurrito2, in Dust Tactics

I got home today to discover that my new box of Dust Tactics arrived. After ripping the carboard box it was shipped in, open with my teeth like some sort of ferral animal; I unopened the game box. I began to assemble the walkers, everything was going great until I came to the German walkers. I encountered two major issues with the weapons on both of the walkers. First on the Ludwig, the weapons are backwards, the attachment point for one of the cannons in on the wrong side, the same side the shield is on. On the Luther, the attachment part for the autocannon like weapon compeltely fell off.

This is unacceptable for a game that costs $100. I hope Fantasy Flight does something in their quality assurance department to make sure everytihng is as it should be. I am disapointed and have contact customer support to request replacement parts.

If i understand you correctly, the gunshield should seperate and can be glued into place. The auto cannon part should also snap into place and you can glue it too. The walkers are actually pre assembled model kits (you can get unasembled varriants from dust-models.com) and so there may ne issues with their assembly, but usually its a matter of a bit of snap and glue. Ive got six german walkers from the core set and im very happy with the quality. put up some pics, we might be able to help better if we can see it.

After the AT43 debacle im just glad there is a new game out with losts of promis and a strong backing. The little details used to piss me off but looks like this stuff is easily fixed. Not making excuses but again after AT43 im happy to see this game.

I was able to glue the autocannon together. The attachment points for the Ludwig cannons are pretty well stuck on there, it isn't a matter of switching around the shield though. I would have if that were the case. I sent some pictures to FFG to see if they would replace them. Let me dig them up and I will post them here.

KevlarBurrito did you ever find out what Fantasy Flight Games said about the Ludwig cannons? I have the same problem as you. I have no idea how I should fix the model.

it looks like you got two right arms?

It does, are the two guns identical when you compare side by side? maybe the other poster has 2 left guns, could make a swap?

No the cannons are not the same. If you notice the attachment point for the right cannon is on the same side as the shield. The shield should be on the outside. So if I could some how change the attachment point to the other side of the cannon it would work properly. But I dont know how to do something like that very well.

I was trying to fix the cannons some how I think you are right the cannons are both left side cannons they just tried to put the shield on differently. Still have no idea how to fix it though :(

the cannons are actually ambidexterous , its just the placement of the attachment points that determins how they attach . this took me all of 30 seconds .

your gun appears to have the proper shield , so you just need to attach the points differently . pop the shield , so its out of the way , pop the peg plate , pop the grill plate , and then glue them back on the proper sides .
