Banes on Melee Strike and Skalf's Anvil.Change weapons.

By guest461286, in WFRP Rules Questions

I am a little confused about the effect of banes on the action Melee Strike and Skalf's Anvil.

Melee Strike:2 banes-Your target may disengage from you for free.

Skalf's Anvil:2 banes-The target may disengage for free after the action is completed.

My question is:if I roll 2 banes while using Melee Strike is it possible for my attack to miss because my target disengaged from me per the effect from the banes? In the card Skalf's Anvil it is more clear: If I hit the target he takes damage and then disengage if 2 banes were rolled.

Also, how much manuevers are required to change weapons? For example I am holding a hammer and I want to draw my two-handed axe.Do I need to do two manuevers;one to sheathe the hammer and one to draw the axe?

Last, when I use an action that requires a test, such as willpower, and it is unopposed, which is the number of chalenge dice(purple)that will be added to the check?

Thanks in advance.

I think they both mean the same thing, the target may disengage. But both actions will still do damage if they hit.

Yes, 2 manouvers. But you could the hammer on the ground (for free) and then draw the 2H axe, but then again you would have to remember to pick the hammer up later (and if the GM wishes an evil goblin might steal it).

Depends on the action. Most actions have a challenge level printed on the card (in the top left corner). Other actions might depend on the circumstances (and thus the GM).

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks!You helped me a lot!

No problem.

By the way, note that Attacks allways have a base difficulty of one purple die (which is not printed on the attack action cards), and any difficulty modifier printed on these cards are in addition to the challenge die.
