I just thought I would post a link to Scott's thread at BGG, so that people can read a little more about the game.
It might help with answering some questions too...

That writeup was far more interesting than anything FFG has told us do far.
To be fair, FFG has only announced the game, and it still sounds as if it is still in playtesting. FFG's MO is generally a) announce game b) wait until game is at printer, than start giving teasers about how mechanics work, c) ramp up teasers when game is on the boat, d) spoil the rules about 1 week before actual release and e) release the game. So I don't expect much more news on this until May or June, at the earliest.
I notice in the article that many people hope for a Gen Con release. Considering how many games release at Gen Con, it seems like game companies are fighting over every dolla spent at the con. Give us releases in July, so that come Gen Con we don't have to decide which of 30-50 games we want to pick up. Sure, game companies want to sell stuff at the con, to recoup their costs, but by making too many games available (from so many companies) it seems like it could also work against them.
Back to the game, I like the idea of a build-your-own combat deck game. I've never played eithar Thunderstone or Ascension, but I love Dominion and even Resident Evil is fun (although long, with a random win condition usually). This seems to have a solid structure and a clear goal for the game. Plus, having a co-op feature is very nice as well. I wish there were more co-op and semi co-op games, at that seems to be type of games that our playgroup enjoys the most.
Looking forward to this one.
I'm looking forward to what might be transferred into the rest of Terrinoth from this game...

Me too =)
I'm definitely keeping an eye on the game itself (it sounds more and more interesting with each new tidbit) but the thing I'm really looking forward to is more (hopefully consistent) fluff about the world of Menarra.
This one does look interesting. I'd really like to see FFG continue to expand on this IP as it is their own original one. Same one they used for Diskwars waaayyy back when. Personally I would like see some more fluff for the setting, like novels maybe.

The most interesting thing for me would be a Mennara compendium, a book about the world, with a large map, like for a RPG game.

I've actually gone and compiled as much fluff info as I could find from the previous games to try and create a more collective picture of the world. I even have a (very) rough map drawn up based on the references I found. It's not official, of course, and there's more than few holes you'd have to fill in for yourself, but it is something to start with if you want to run an RPG in Menarra.
I've been running my own D&D game using this info as a setting for the past few months and it's been coming along nicely.

Steve-O, you never cease to amaze me! How do you find the time to play all those games AND run a D&D campaign? What do you do for a living? :-)

I test video games. =P
Seriously though, I don't usually play heavy board games like Descent AND run a D&D game at the same time, we alternate back and forth depending primarily on how much one of the few "GMs" among us are jonesing to run something.
Where is this collection of fluff and info ? I would be interested to see it.
