Maneuvers and recharges in social encounters

Hi folks, I'd love to hear some explanation or examples of how you're using social encounters in encounter mode rather than story mode. It's still tough for me to grasp how to make encounter mode timing work well in social encounters.


I see recharge values on the social action cards, and some even give free maneuvers. Is it mostly just relevant when using extended tests (progress tracker) to keep from using the same social action card over and over?


But maneuvers? Are you doing positioning and backpack digging during social encounters or is it just a cheesy use the assist action every time?


Even during social encounters there are maneuvers you can do:

- Movement

- Drawing or putting away an item

- Use a skill

Then again, no one is forcing anyone to use a maneuver. I've seen many combats where engaged PCs didn't use their Maneuvers. <shrug>
