Does anyone have that wonderful Arkham Horror flowchart?

By Avi_dreader, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I'm about to train several people next week and I could *really* use several print outs.

If those aren't what you're looking for, ask ColtsFan and I know he's got the right one ^_^

I don't know... Someone posted something here about a year ago and I, foolishly enough, did not save a copy. Maybe it wasn't a flowchart. Any excellent (relatively short and clearly written) summaries explaining the game for newbies would be welcome really.

The phrase: You are all doomed! Mwuhahahahaha! can easily be printed out onto a player card sized chart.

I don't see what else they would need to know?

;') Funny, but not particularly helpful. Unless I can't get what I really want, in which case I will hand out this little phrase to the other players at the beginning of the game on business cards. I really should get a business card that says that.

This is the one I always used. Not sure if it's the one that you meant. If not, it might be useful to someone. I've had this one a couple years now, so it's dated, but I always liked it's simplicity.

That might have been it actually. It's been a while. Maybe not though. Regardless, it's very good. Thank you.

Is it just me that noticed that Avi might actually get a group to play this game with? sorpresa.gif

Heh... We'll see. I usually hate playing this game with a group, but I guess if they're all dedicated gamers it could be quite fun after the initial time investment spent giving them basic training.

You haven't been posting much lately. Lurking? Anyhoo, when are you going to give the league another shot? :') Julia's working her way through it and having a lot of fun.

Don't like playing with others? But that increases the difficulty of the game more than any herald could!

Why you sucking on a lit match? Is it because you're tough or because you haven't noticed that your face is about to catch on fire?

I'll stick to heralds if you don't mind. Newbies are far too dangerous.

Several of my fellow players are more interested in their own investigator's fate than the fate of Arkham and would e.g. never part with an item they received, even if someone else could get a lot more use out of it. That makes things a lot more _interesting_ demonio.gif

Been busy more than anything. Spending more time in the Game of Thrones LCG and Mansions of Madness sections, for personal and store reasons. Still try to pop in here every now and then.

Not sure if/when we'll tackle the league. Now that Mansions has released, our group has a sort of unwritten rule regarding what game we play with the number of players around. 4-5 means MoM, 6-7 means BSG and 8 means Arkham Horror. Although we did play a 4 player game yesterday, using just the base game, and won in an hour (we only have about 90 minutes to play anyway).

What, that's a match? What the hell happened to my cigarette! I'm frakked! No wonder my eyebrows keep getting shorter and I have no nose hair.

Hey, wait a minute. I don't even smoke. Now I'm more confused than ever.

Hehe, there is definitely some truth in this!

Playing AH with newbies feels like swimming with a ball and chain ;'D

PLAYER 1: "Hey, I need your Sword of Glory! I have to kill the Cthonian on the Witch house and go through that dam(n) portal before it's too late"
PLAYER 2: "So?"
PLAYER 1: "Give it to me!"
PLAYER 2: "I'm sorry, I can't. You know, it's mine"
PLAYER 1: "Yes I know, but you don't have the Sanity to afford that thing and survive to the journey through R'lyeh"
PLAYER 2: "I don't care"
PLAYER 1: "GIMME THAT SWORD"
PLAYER 2: "No"
PLAYER 1: "I'm gonna kill you if you refuse it"
PLAYER 2: "You cannot attack other investigators"
PLAYER 1: "I'm not talking about your investigator"
PLAYER 2: "..."

@Julia

;'D I try not to make RL death threats. I just sit and try not to visibly glower.

@ Jerusalem Jones

Ahhh... Mansions of Madness. So how is it? How does it compare to Descent or Betrayal at House on the Hill?

Avi, MoM is quite different from both games, I think. I haven't played Betrayal yet, but in the MoM forum tons of discussions regarding this topic were made and almost all posters seem to agree. Basically, Descent is heavily combat driven, while MoM seems to offer a wider spectrum of possible actions. There are five scenarios in the base game, and every scenario has three possible different solutions, and the Keeper has again a wide spectrum of possible actions. I'm half through the rules, and it's quite intriguing.

Hmmm... Verrrry intriguing. I shall stroke my invisible beard and contemplate how to play it.

In case you manage to find time, we could check whether it's possible to skype a game (but, as usual, I need at least two more months since games here in Italy seem not to be available on the same day as in the rest of the world)

Hmm... I don't think I'd want to skype a game of MoM, but I'd skype a game of AH someday if you're game.
