I'm not willing to call him a troll just yet. For one thing, I've seen people hold sillier positions and I don't like calling someone a troll when I think they are expressing their honest opinion, especially when their opinion is on topic for a thread they reply to.

For another, it did make me think about Stormtroopers. Their trait allowing them to count the armour as one quality higher is a much better argument for using the base AP than referring to GQ armours shifting AP value.

You are right with that. AND you really found a use for that special ability.
For it is, imo, the most useless and underwhelming ascension power in the book.
