Card organization, cheat sheets, and fan sites

By donbaloo2, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Been gone for a bit and now see that there is no repository for fan created material. I was going to look and see if anyone had put together a quick sheet that listed all the action cards with summaries. But alas, hammerzeit is gone.

Is there such a sheet out there, other than the players guide? Any other good cheat sheets that one should be aware of?

How are most folks managing their action card pile? Card sheets in binders? A stack with a cheat sheet for reference? At first I was thinking about binder sheets but thought maybe a just a reference sheet would be better for studying then you could just dig through the pile once you found what you wanted off the ref sheet. Any suggestions?

Furthermore, what's the active community doing for a repository these days? We at least need a sticky thread for housing links to folks' personal sites and storehouses. I would suggest a sticky on the strike to stun forums but I know their 3e traffic is much smaller than here.

Don,

There are three projects i am involved in which may suite some of your needs:

Game on,

Gitzman

Gitzman, I grabbed the reference sheet and quickly looked it over. Very nicely done. I'll check out the rest as time permits, thanks for the hard work!

Any leads on a reference sheet for compiled action/talent cards with summaries? Doesnt the players guide have something like this?

there is also errata/faq where you can find link to creature action list in it.

Binders with card sheets, organized after card type, traits and alphabetically. Makes it easy to find all the cards and flip through the avaliable options. Same for the GM-cards, I have them in another binder with creatures (ordered by type), creature actions, locations and item cards.

Works really well, the cards fit in 9-sleeve pages even if they are in deck protectors.

photos please! :)

Just a quick note, while some stuff on the site is created and maintained by me (they are clearly marked as authored by Gitzman), there is a large amount of content that is generated by other users and fans. See author notes for each one or details in the documents themselves. I am just trying to give folks a one-stop-shop to find any resources they may need for WFRP3.

Guss you meant me so I uploaded some pictures of my "GM card organization binder" to my dropbox, you can view them here:

dl.dropbox.com/u/14855200/Binder2.JPG
dl.dropbox.com/u/14855200/Binder3.JPG
dl.dropbox.com/u/14855200/Binder4.JPG

All of the pictures show the same binder, just open on different sections (Creatures, Actions, Locations, Items). And it works perfectly when I GM since all my cards are within reach in an organized way.

Now when we'r still on the subject of organization you could also check out:

dl.dropbox.com/u/14855200/Raaco2.JPG

Which show how I organize my small cards and bits.

Ok, I took some quick pictures with my flashless smartphone to share my organization. SORRY FOR THE BLUR EFFECT !!! my phone's fault. It was a bit painful to do, but I really hope this will be useful to the whole wfrp3 community.

I don't use binders. I use the corebox + creature vault + adventurer toolkit I find it faster, more practical to use and update.

In the COREBOX

In the ADVENTURER TOOLKIT BOX, Everything I need in the current adventure

In the CREATURE's VAULT

Hey willmanx, looks good. Just wondering though how well it works when your players go to looking for action cards when they advance? Is it not a nightmare with them shuffling back and forth through all the cards trying to decide what they want?

I ended up going with a binder and have the action cards in there for now. Looks good and makes it easy for folks to flip and read through. We'll see how it well it works in use.

Sorry for my lame froggy vocabulary...

I edited my post to be more precise : the action card open box is classified as follows :

  • by category : melee, ranged, support, blessings, spells
  • Each category is classified 2 times alphabetically : first the action card anybody may use that I sleeved,
  • then the unsleeved action cards that are reserved to a certain trait like slayer, waywatcher, pets, etc.) are also classified alphabetically

When a player ask for melee action cards, I give him the common sleeved pack of melee action cards + I speak to him about any specific action card he might have access to with his current career.

My player try to keep the common sleeved pack alphabetically organized. Thanks to them.

I've started putting my cards in sleeves and binders... (you can get "sport card sleeves" from office shops like Staples a lot cheepter than through game supply stores, by the way). The player cards I leave out because I and I think my players like the feel of sifting through them, passing stacks back and forth. But I'm trying to organize the action and creature cards from the Creature Vault so that if I suddenly decide a goblin shaman shows up I can quickly get the parts I need. Likewise, I've put the condition cards in business card sleeves in a binder with my rules cheetsheets so that I can find the one I want quicker.

I also have some old 35mm slide sleeves that I put the character and creature stands in. They're great, let me look at all of them quickly, and even hold the large stands fine. I admit I'm having a hard time deciding on my final organization, but my goal is to have a sleeve with stand ups of monsters of a type followed by their creature cards followed by the action cards in a monster binder.

I already set up a "Witch's Song" binder like that, with all the cards and stands (other than the career and party stuff).

But then I kind of geek out over organizing my game supplies.
