In the book the Emperor Protects, the second adventure "A Stony Sleep" they have the Alpha Legion Marines in this one. The book says that it is a cell of Alpha legion marines, but not how many? How many Alpha marines are in this cell, i cannot find a reference for this?

If Alpha Legion wanted you to know how many of them are present they would tell you, and it wouldn't be true.

There are a couple of them that engage in very specific activities, but beyond that however many you need to challenge your players. And challenging your players is subjective, and really depends on your group's experience level and armament.

As Charmander said there are various encounters where you meet them. If I remember correctly there are some guidelines to how many there are.

You could of course rule that there are others. Would make a nice add on for the kill team as a search and destroy mission.
