I've played once, and read through the rules a few times. & plan on buying the game tonight and playing tomorrow.

My question is combat.

Do the Cylon ships on the board attack at the end of every players turn. according to "Activating Cylon Ships" p22

or only when a Cylon attack Crisis Card is drawn.

Basicly, Do all Cylons (ships & basestars on the board) attack at the end of every players turn, if a Cylon attack Crisis Card was not drawn.

Cylon ships do whatever they do (attack, launch, whatever) when the appropriate icon appears on a crisis card.

Is this an assumption, or is there a rule you can quote?

I still feel like the ships aleady on the board should get to attack, during the cylon attack step.

Just not all of them every time, as that would be too overwhelming. You reveal the crisis card, resolve that, then look for an icon on the bottom left corner of the card during the cylon attack step. So I guess the answer to your first question is: no. Every Cylon ship does not attack at the end of every turn. But don't worry. It doesn't sound like that is a lot, but there will be times during most games where things will go from quiet to a massive Cylon fleet in a turn or two, and then even with only one type of Cylon ship possibly doing something per turn it will be crippling to the fleet.

The Activation Step on a cylon fleet crisis card is not the only opportunity cylon ships have to attack.

P11 of the rulebook mentions an icon that appears on the bottom left of some crisis cards, the example showing an "Activate Heavy Raiders" icon. The combat rules explain each different icon that may appear, and these icons appear on crisis cards that are not cylon fleet cards. At a guess, I'd say two-thirds or more of the crisis cards have such an icon, and as such, cylon ships on the board will be fairly active throughout the game.
