I think if the agendas gave them bonuses to defense like "+2 Str when defending" and "cannot be bypassed by stealth" that would have been nedly and complemented the wildling agendas nicely, which are focused on attacking.

Given that, pre-errata, all 6 The North Agendas could be used at once, I imagine the game designers didn't want totally OP Wildling/Nights Watch decks.

Well, the agendas would still have affected only part of the characters if you run both Wildlings and NW. But yes, seperating the agendas out so you can either play the Wildling or the Night's Watch ones should have been done from the beginning.

And the best use of the Night's Watch theme I've seen is someone running the NW Stewards agenda out of a Baratheon deck with Time of Ravens The Wall to give all those great Bara characters with mil/power icons the missing intrigue icon. I think the only neutral NW char in there was Maester Aemon.

I also recommend ccgarmory. If you are ever in the Baltimore area they have a nice little store in Canton.

I found a story, luckily, in Toronto. About an hour or so away from me and made an online order. Costed about 200$ but I got every Chapter Pack available plus Princes of the Sun. Only things I'm missing are the Kings of the Sea, waiting for re-issue, and the Tales from the Red Keep.

I made a Stark Brotherhood, Lanni Wildling/Clansmen (only for the lol fun), Targaryen mix-of-everything, Baratheon Night's Watch.

I plan to try and tweak them based on how well they play tonight.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

Coolstuffinc.com is my online retailer of choice for Game of Thrones, but I don't know what they charge to ship to Canada. Free shipping in the US for orders of $100 or more though and they have always been fast on deliveries and pre-orders and good prices.

I'll second Cool Stuff, Inc. I've brought all my AGoT LCG from them and they are great. I've also purchased other stuff from CCG Armory and they've been just as good, so I'd recommend either. Hopefully shipping to Canada isn't too high.

Which store is it, Rogue Cypher?
Can you give me the name and website?

I think Night's Watch should only have military icons, then one of the agendas could do something to advantage them some other way. It doesn't make sense for them to b involved in intrigue or power as they are completely separate from the rest of society and politics etc.

They should be separate from the rest, but clearly they're not all the time. And even if they were, there's internal intrigue and power struggles, so it makes that different characters have different icons. Sam, even if called "the Slayer" is not really a military kind of guy :)

It's called Meeple Mart. I emailed the store owner asking for help and he was really nice about it.

Each Chapter Pack was about 6.95-10.95 plus taxes but with a flat shipping rate in Ontario/Quebec of only 10$ which was nice. It only took a week for the stuff to get to my house as well which was awesome.

Thanks for the tip, RC!

I'll be sure to check them out.

The other agendas would still allow this, but the primary objective of The Night's Watch is to defend the wall, which is a military endeavor.

And my point is, if anything, it would make more sense the other way around. A Night's Watch agenda for giving everyone a military icon, and icons on characters suited to their personal strengths. As Jon points out to Maester Aemon, the Night's Watch needs all kinds of people. It's because the Night's Watch has degenerated so much that pretty much everyone is forced to fight. In its glory days, you probably had plenty of people who'd have never had to pick up a sword even if the Wall was under attack. Of coure, the LCG focuses on the time period of the book, but like I said, it'd still make more sense to have characters have icons according to their personal strengths.

I would have preferred a cast of monocon NWs (and a few rare bicons or even an occasional tricons) with the agenda giving their respective icons, but also a small bonus ability should an NW have that icon already.

eg: if a certain NW char has an INT icon, then that char will receive "cannot be bypassed by stealth" ability from the Stewards agenda. Other NW char without INT icons receive INT icon from Stewards agenda, but not the "cannot be bypassed by steath".
Rangers can give MIL icons and "deadly when defending" (or "when defending in MIL challenge, attackers gain -1 STR") to those already with MIL icons.
Builders can give POW icons and "when defending, attackers lose the renown keyword" (or "reduce the cost of first unique NW with POW icon by 2.") to those already with POW icons.

I like these ideas, Ruvion. Sort of like incremental bonuses dependent upon the card in play. Hopefully they will make NW more interesting in future releases. As it is, I see Wildlings still (even after all the erratas), but I almost never see a NW character other than Jon Snow.

As much as it goes against the time period in which the LCG is based upon...

I think they should really release, at the least, some sub-set Chapter Packs aside from the normal ones that include new characters that can help expand upon the characters/cards that are based around the book series. After a while, they're going to have to run out of ideas for this time period, right? So why not prolong that point with Chapter Packs featuring brand new characters that George R.R. Martin can pre-approve for use.

I know that Targaryen can benefit greatly by having more dragons in the game. So why not just simply make cards based around from the time when dragons were commonplace? And so on with other themes... (Primarily it could help the Kingsguard too by including past Kingsguard members)
