Daemons and fatigue

By Eorek, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Hey there guys, new on the forums :D

I have a small question about the rules that has troubled me for a while (since it happened in a game a while back).

What happens if a daemon takes fatigue in excess of its TB? I just can´t picture a bloodletter or a horror lying on the floor drooling and unconscious. Last time it happened I just let it be banished back to the warp, but it seemed a little strange... it had only taken a critical hit in the foot (5 critical damage, 1d5 fatigue).

I´m assuming that the daemonic trait doesn´t give them double TB when it comes to fatigue.

Thanks in advance :D

Daemonic trait is listed on p. 329 of the core rulebook. Without copying the whole rule here, it does double their Toughness vs. everything except force weapons, Psychic powers, holy attacks or other creatures with this trait.

So while it doesn't say it doubles their fatigue level, I wouldn't see a problem with your giving them that effect.

Although one point comes to mind, most mooks of any level, once reduced to lower than zero wounds just die in my game at that point anyway. When dealing with large groups of enemies, it becomes exceedingly difficult to track each individual with varying critical levels. If you're worried that this has them dying too quickly, just give them extra wounds equal to their toughness bonus. This will speed up your combats, and give you less to track.

So for example, a Daemonette (p. 351 core rulebook) which has 15 wounds and a 40 Toughness, would have 19 wounds, but die (or be banished) when they hit zero wounds.
