New ERRATA/FAQ

By skolo, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'd only ask: "Is it broken/overpowered for an amber wizard to be casting spells in beast form?"

That's the only thing that really matters. Rules technicalities are for powermongerlawyers to abuse and for us 'game academics' to argue ;)

jh

The Channel Power issue also matters in terms of whether it can cause a miscast. If it's not a spell action it doesn't. If it is a spell action ... it may depending on which entry you read.

Channel power is not normally a miscast. Its a special condition on the card. In addition, in the winds of magic or players guide, it suggests to use the party tension meter when a wizard generates a chaos star whilst channelling power. The BeastForm trait spells themselves that a Wizard could cast in beastform also are very few. Many of them count as a melee attack and a spell. So, you could not channel power and then use Fangs of Fury while quick casting because the "spell" counts also as a melee attack.

Currently there are no ranged nuke spells if you will that have the beastform trait. The one ranged attack spell the Amber Wizard has is Hunters spear and that is not a beastform spell. The only way I could imaging an Amber Wizard being overpowered is if he could stand off at range with improved wounds, defense soak and manueverability and channel power casting ranged attack spells. They can't. There only powerful attack spells require them to be engaged and make melee attacks.

guys, please, we can discuss this in some separate topic. this thread is only for error/errata updates. thanks

No problems. I think it is worth an official errata.

that is true. maybe in 2012 ;-)
