Who all is going to Minnesota in April?

Path of the Master: Void Event

This event is the last event in the Path of the Master: Battle for the Thirteen Seals program. Each month for the past year there has been a tournament for the resource of the month's patch. These patch acts as a special invitation to an amazing weekend of UFS action that will take place at the FFG Headquarters here in Minneapolis April 17-19th!

::Raises Hand::

I'm definitely going, I don't have too many patches, but I have enough.

I WANT to, and I've been wanting to since they first announced this. But honestly, time will tell. And oh, money. If the stay is cheap I will definitely swing by.

I'm going to see what I can do to get in on this. I WANTS IT!

I might go cause tax season's here and i,m hoping on my refund but if not then I HOPE THAT FFG HAS A REDEMPTION PROGRAM FOR THE PATCHES CAUSE I KNOW A WHOLE LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OF PEOPLE THAT AIN'T GOING DUE TO FUNDS NOT BEING RIGHT . NJ might be repped my just myself (cause I can't rep NYC cause I moved from there a decade ago llorando.gif and O and them have it on lock aplauso.gif .)

P.S I needed to to get the point across.

Not to mention those people outside of North America. We do have patch winners in Europe too, although FFG seem to have forgotten this.

Pretty much anyone with no disposable income has patches that work just like the goggles. They do nothing.

I'm pretty sure foxhound will be making a trip, in april im pretty sure a couple of us can make it for the weekend.

Why do we need a redemption prize? I have people here that DON'T want to go, even if I was paying for the entire thing, because they want to keep their patches!

I will most likely NOT be going, due to funding, and also, it kind of snuck up on me. This is KIND of the first I'd heard of this event, actually for really happening, and when. I'd always known it was going to probably be happening sometime around then, and it would probably be in Minny, but... yeah...

To the UK and none North Americanians: What would you propose they do instead? Have a second one? Where? What centralized place in non North American-land do you recommend? Furthermore: What's wrong with keepign the patches as they are? They ARE kinda cool ya know?

Seems like most people that'll be going will have 12-13 copies of these special card(s). Plenty to make it to others, probably. EVERYone getting them? Yeah probably not... that's the concept of 'exclusive promos' you dig?

I really want to go just to see some of my friends before con season heats up.

You don't trade in your patches for the promo at the event you show them how many differant patches you have then they give you that many promos. You get to keep your patches and get promos.

I hope I will be able to go, I only live 6 hours away from FFG so that will make it more likely.

You can see me there, I'll probably be drinking way too much.

Wait, the Void event is going to be held in Minnesota? IE, there will only be one Void event, and it will only be held at the Journey's End or wthever it's called?

... D:

No, Void patch is in February xD

I'm assuming there's some kind of redemption program so that people who can't/don't want to go still get their prizes.

And I wish you could join us in tonight's main event.

It involves alcohol, Rock Band and a slew of people with inappropriate jokes.

No there isn't. It's already been said before that the only way to get the special promo is to go to this event after the patch tourneys were over. Everyone that enters the tournament (one in US, one in the UK, and there is going to be one other one in Australia I think) gets one copy of the special promo for each differant patch they have, then the winner of the event gets all the leftover copies of the promo in existence. That's it.

There will be no redemption for the patches. And that kind of defeats the purpose of the patch anyways, why would they spend all that money making the patches to have players send them back to them to send them a promo. If that was the point they could have just passed out the promos and skipped wasting money on making a patch.

So... did the general public know about this date and location prior to this week? If so I must be totally out of touch for some reason... othe than this announcement I had no idea / forgot it was coming up in April... and in minny also...

And if this is the first time its been said for reals officially, then doesn't this strike every body as 'slightly' a little too short of notice? ...

The original announcement of the PotM events stated that there would be a wrap up tournament held in the spring.

The exact location was never confirmed, and was always cause of some speculation, and a number of forum posts where people hoped where it would be.
The fact that they're holding it at their head office is not surprising. If I remember correctly there was talk when STG announced the program that it was going to be held at their head-office in Memphis.

Anyone who was interested in this has known for a year that there would be an event in the spring, and that they would have to travel for it. At this point, we're more than 3 months away from the event. Considering many major events are announced with less then 2 months notice, I think this is a huge improvement over what's been done in past. <Sticking to original time line + giving an additional months notice of the exact timing>

anyhow... that's my .02

If the promos are absurdly powerful bitching will be heard, and I will be among them. I understand not a lot of people would want to travel for bad cards, but seriously that would just, once again, favor a select few over a collective of players. Oh well, not like we're not already used to this fact.

Can you stop the trolling already?

If the cards are too weak, bitching will be heard.

If the cards are too strong, bitching will be heard.

There was only one card given away - people will ***** that it's not enough.

There was more then one card given away - people will ***** that it's too much.

If there is a redemption program there will be bitching.

If there isn't a redemption program there will be bitching.

No matter what happens, it won't be good enough, and there will be bitching.

I have yet to see anything posted on these forums where someone doesn't take a least the slightest moment to *****.
