I may be stupid, but is there a limit of the number of supportcards of the same type that can be attached to a character? Could I, to go over the top, attach three "Springfield m1903" to the G-men and get a character with 11 combat icons and a skill of 12?

Pack all you can. Of course, more loaded they are, bigger target they have on their back. When James Logan comes in and grabs two Prize Pistols with his ability, you're pretty desperate for some heavy wounding or destroy effects.
