Toad with objects and encountering spaces questions

By Draii, in Talisman Rules Questions

These questions came up during this nights game. We didn't find any clear rules about them (might have missed something) and it's possible they have been discussed here earlier (haven't read all posts yet).

1) When a character turn to a toad he loses all objects (placing them on the space he was turned), but we saw nothing about not being able to pick up objects while a toad. So is it possible to leap one step away, and the next back again to get all your stuff again? Or pick up new objects you find while a toad? And in that case, can you use them while a toad?
I have always played that the toad can't have any objects, but if the rules don't say this I might have been wrong.

2) If the Leprechaun goes to a wood-space where a place (like the cathedral) is located. Does he still get his three gold for visiting the woods, although he is encountering the card there?

#1: Toad can't pick anything. Toad has no Object or Follower slots on his character card.

#2: Leprechaun and Druid's "land on" abilities kick in when they end their move in the named space, before they choose whether to encounter the space or a character in that space (if there is one). So land on Woods, pick up 3 gold, then encounter space or character. If that Woods had Academy, Leprechaun would get the gold and then be able to use that gold at the Academy same turn.

Thanks for quick and good answers =)

Ah, the slots, never thought of that when looking. Good call.

Where can I find the picking-gold sequence described in the rules?

"Q2: Can the Druid immediately gain his full complement of
Spells when he lands on the Woods before he resolves any
encounter there?

A: Yes." (FAQ, p. 2)

Druid and Leprechaun's abilities are worded the same (land on). Confusion tends to come from that fact that some characters (Thief and Sorceress at least going by memory) have "land on" abilities as well, but they can only use them when they choose to encounter another character.

Great. Thanks alot (again).
Really need to make an better rulebook where all expanison rules and erratas are sorted toghether with the basic rules.
