Let's see if I understand this right. I suppose that I attach this to a unit of my opponent. So when he attacks with that unit, my defending units lose a hit point permantly.

Right?

-1 only lasts as long as the attached unit is attacking.

You can only attach it to a unit you control (written in the card text).

-1HP lasts until the end of the turn.

But the card doesn't say until end of turn...

No, but it says "While attached unit is attacking...", as soon as the unit isn't attacking anymore (so combat is over), -1 goes away.

And when I attack with Horrific, and my opponent has a unit with 1 hit point and 1 Toughness. I guess the moment he declares it as blocker his unit dies? So he blocks nothing then. Right?

Yes, HP-reduction ignores Toughness.
