Finally have it all...

By RocksLikeToast, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

So I finally bought the remaining expansions for AH. (I was missing Insmouth, KiY, Lurker) and am looking for a good way to mix it all together... I know Tibs has a dilution chart and some kind of dilution method but i couldn't remember how it went. Under normal playing conditions I would like to have all the small expansions mixed in and play with 1 or 2 of the board expansions at one time as i normally play with 2-4 people (if i played with 6-8 i would probably do everything). Does anyone else play this way and can shed some light on how their games normally end up dilution wise?

thanks thats what i was looking for... i think im going to try that...most likely for my next session i will be using Insmouth and the 4 card expansions

so after reading it...if i wanted to play with insmouth and all 4 card expansions my # would be 12... it doesn't seem to change the game much the way i'm looking at it...i would draw regular until the terror level reached 8... and then my predraw would be 2.... am i reading the chart wrong?...also can you play with the mythos cards from boards you aren't playing with still mixed in?...and only play with them if they don't effect things in the boards you don't play with...(like clue tokens or gates appearing there)

12 means your pre-draw number starts at 1. Note that in a normal game, the pre-draw number is 0.

This means that for every turn until the terror level is 8, if your first Mythos card is not a "special" type, you discard it, and draw and keep the second mythos card. You're effectively doubling your chances of getting a "special" type card each round.

Once the terror level reaches 8, your pre-draw number is 2: each Mythos phase, you draw until you get a special type or have drawn 2 cards. If you drew 2 cards that aren't "special" types, you discard them and draw a third and keep it. This way, you get as many as three shots at getting a "special" type.

Hope this helped.

ahhh ok then lol...i thought it was a little strange that it was mostly the same game it didn't dawn on me that it was a PREdraw gui%C3%B1o.gif

so essentially i get one extra every turn until lvl 8....

anyways Tibs... even if i am not using the other board expansions...can i still leave the mythos cards mixed in and use them in any way? or will i need to remove them from the deck?....i suppose i could just skip over them as i get to them but i was wondering if the game could still be played with the cards also

The anti-dilution rules operates 100% on your Mythos deck, since it's the Mythos deck it's trying to repair. King in Yellow, Dunwich, and Innsmouth are deliberately intensified based on how many cards you have in the deck.

Count all sets of Mythos cards you're using. Clearly, if you're not using the Dunwich board, then you will skip Mythos cards with a Dunwich gate, but leaving in Dunwich cards with Arkham gates will change the math a bit.

ahhh ok yeah i wasn't sure since you use all the boards anyway and in the descriptions it says...if you are using mythos cards from...wasn't sure if this meant using the actual boards as well or if it was the way i wanted....i'll try only using your method...but i think i'm also going to try leaving them all in and maybe increase the predraw by one...and if i land on a dunwich gate when im not using dunwhich go to the next card...see if it still results in the same thing...
