It looks good but its to recognisable as Star Wars, think it needs a lot more modding to make it more WW2-ish.

and whats wrong with that ?

It means, it looks out of place and not earth 1947, doesn't gell with the current models and out of place.

as an american walker , ye , but as a german walker i think it looks fine . haqd i done it , i might have done a few things dif. on it , but hey its his walker , and totaly fits the bill .

I accept suggestions and might follow them, I like how it turned out although it needs a bit more ww2 look (I could put a construction journal on the blog if it would be of interest)

the things i would have done different would be a bit more work on cleaning up the head , and i would have cut the legs dif. so that it kept the knee joints . i have one of those ( for my star wars army i will never get to play because noone here plays star wars minis battles from the old 1980's game :( ) and i have often though that if i had an extra , i would like to replace the transport compartment , with a naval cannon , and maybey some anti aircraft turrets and sand bags around them .

You did notice that the head is not the original one but the front of a Sdkfz.221 1/35 armoured car.

It was just so easy to cut off the legs above the joints...

I have another one of these kits that I want to make something different. First I thought of putting a lot of artillery too, but some how it doesn´t looks right...

I also play a little star wars miniatures-and I have the big scale AT AT-some of the miniatures are quite compatible.

which kit is it ? i thought it was the one put out by wizards OTC .

i understood why you did the legs that way , i thonk most people would do the same , i wouldnt describe my self as a "hobby" gamer as i dont really just love to bits the process of converting a mini , but i want specific looks and items , so i have become proficient in making minis the way i want them , its not about the process for me , its about the end result , so for me i have learned the skills , and gotten the tools to go the extra mile as it were .

and ya i noticed the head , my problem isnt with the head as such , but rather how it is attached , the top and and neck looks wrong to me , it just looks kinda klinky or unfinished to me .

it still looks good to me , but these are just things that i would have done dif. if i had it on my table .

And now something completely different . Not yet finished DSC_0061.JPG

SWEEEEEEET!

nice smaller version , but how will you handle movement , any special move rules since its not a "walker" acording to the big guys produst description ?

which brings to mind , might i suggest retractable wheels in the skids ? i dont understand why the big one isnt a walker since it has legs , so wheels would make it make sense for non snow terrain . they wouldnt have to actually function , but having them present would be a nice detail .

oh , and MORE PICS :)

I think it slides with the back propeller in snow or ice. When in rough terrain it just walks like any other walker, except for wearing big shoes.

thats what i dont understand about the original one , is it says in its description that its NOT a walker , despite having what appear to be legs preocupado.gif

where did you get the parts for the feet ?

something that different and cool might warrant something to make it stand out , we have made limited special abilities for some units to give the added flavor of their type .

what about an ability for arctic vehicles "Arctic Agility" : this unit has the agile skill whenever operating on arctic terrain .
