The Conclave

Spoiled in the chapter pack announcement. I like it, versitile and in the right deck could be pretty cheap even on the first turn.

I've said it in the article, and I'll say it again. The artwork looks like the Sith council is meeting. "Rise, my apprentice."

Pretty cool - I just wish I had seen the first two CP's yet, hopefully they are imminent.

Seems kind of strange to me that this would be a "Character" card. Seems more like an Event, Plot, or even a Location. (Of course, it has been about 1 1/2 years since I read the series...)

Cool card and artwork, nevertheless!

@Saturnine - yeah, does look very "Sith"-ish. Those dudes on the dias look kind of like "Plo-Koon" (whatever race he was...)

Does it seem weird that a card with an article like "THE" in the title is not unique?

  • The Fox's Teeth
  • The Viper's Bannermen
  • The Wildling Horde
  • The Bastard's Elite
  • The Burned Men
  • The Flayed Men

Or is it the absence of the Army trait that makes it seem odd?

I suppose it's the absence of the Army trait as the term Army implies a multitude.

hmmm...but doesn't the term conclave also imply a multitude?

Dunno. Why did the observation never come up for:

  • The Fox's Teeth
  • The Viper's Bannermen
  • The Wildling Horde
  • The Bastard's Elite
  • The Burned Men
  • The Flayed Men

Or is it the absence of the Army trait that makes it seem odd?

Actually, this argument has come up, just not on the boards. To me each of those should be unique.

The way I see it is that they're groups of people, not specifics. So if the Viper's Bannermen die, he's got some in reserves to make sure that he's always got bannermen. Or he can raise more Bannermen if the situation calls for two groups of them.

Though I can see an interesting new card type coming out of this; Divisions (semi-unique cards). You can have Viper's Bannermen in play at 7 strength, but if you want to bring a second Bannermen out, it's considered splitting the main force into two Divisions, each with, say, -2 strength, but the latter comes out for -4 Gold.
