LCG Reprints

By Charlie_X, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

With Kings of the Sea's reprint having three of each card, is there any word on the first chapter packs being re-released with three of each card, like the Call of Cthulhu packs?

no words about that

You've heard as much as anyone else has. Any news like that is going to be on the main site, not on the forums.

Keep in mind, though, that the first "Asylum Packs" for CoC were conceived of and printed outside of the LCG model - at least a year, closer to 2. None of the AGoT LCG stuff has been. Reprinting the GJ set at 3x may be more of a metagame balance issue because it effectively made GJ cards scarcer and harder to come by than everything else. (And the House has suffered for it.)

Also, from the beginning of the LCG, FFG has talked in terms of never reprinting Chapter Packs. One print run and when they were gone, they were gone. Now, that could obviously change, but I wouldn't assume that reprinting the Core Set and small box expansions (which are essentially expansions to the Core Set) indicates an inclination to reprint Chapter Packs. Note that FFG isn't really talking about reprinting CoC Asylum Packs that were produced after 2008 (when the LCG model was launched).

All that, of course, is conjecture. But if they decide to reprint any of the "10x3, 10x1" Chapter Packs in the new "20x3" format, the announcement will certainly be made on the main site, not the forums.
