Would it be easy to start a Warhammer fantasy campaign on a lost feudal world and then have it shift into 40K?
Would it take a little shoe-horning or would it be a lot of work?

It's not at all compatible.
If you really want to do that start with 2nd Ed, or just start with Dark Heresy and make some adjustments.
Yes, Dark Heresy has rules for feudal worlds with swords and armor and all that.
I would recommend just using that system.
Ok. That's a bit disappointing.
Thanks, though.
I've got the 1st run of Dark Heresey, from Black Industries. Has FF changed anything of significance?
Is there a specific sourcebook you'd reccomend for a feudal setting?
Off the top of my head, the only extra book that I'd recommend is the Inquisitor's Handbook. It actually has an entire section devoted to Feudal (Primitive) Worlds. Equipment mostly.
Other than that maybe the Creatures Anathema, 'cause it will give you a good batch of beasties and ways to use them.
With all that you'd probably be set.

Nope. The 2nd version under the FFG banner added in the errata from the first book, but spawned it's own smaller amount of errata on it's own. Other than that, the rules are still fully compatible with the first printing under the Black Industries label.
I agree with the previous poster that Creatures Anathema and Inquisitor's handbook would be good buys for a low tech game.
