After yesterday's session we came up with a concept for a new talent. We´d like to run it by you and get some quality feedback
Holy Fury
Prerequisite: Hatred: Daemons, Heretics, Mutants, Psykers, or Xenos
Cost: 300
Description:
When entering combat with one or several creatures for which you have any of the above Hatred-talents, you may take a Willpower-test. On a success you will get Righteous Fury on a damage roll of 9-10 against those creatures for the duration of the encounter.
Our interpretation of this talent is that when opposed by a living blasphemy against the God-Emperor's holy vision, you are filled with such fury and hatred that you descend upon them as a bloody angel of vengeance guided by His Hand.
This talent is mainly aimed towards sororitas but may be taken by anyone of sufficient faith. The purpose of this talent would fulfill is in our eyes, a much needed expansion to the Hatred rules, providing a reason for acolytes focused on ranged combat to start down the hatred-path. Something sorely lacking in a hatred-filled setting as Warhammer 40K. It also gives another view of the Emperor guiding the faithful other than the "Faith Talents".
The fact that this talent would require multiple hatred talents and quite a high willpower to be truly effective makes sure that it is not overpowering (in our view). There would of course, as always, need to be a good motivation as to why a certain creature is included in a given hatred talent. Grox-hating because of Hatred: Xenos? Maybe not. Same goes for the most unspecific talent of all, Hatred: Heretics. The GM would need to balance this so that not every enemy is a heretic, or at least not such a obvious heretic that everything is included by this talent.
Thoughts?
[Edit] ****! Just noticed that this post should be in the House Rules part of the forum... If a moderator could move this post there we would be grateful.
