2 Champs and a Chump interview with George R R Martin

By Dobbler, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

We've teased it, and now it is finally here!

Back during the Days of Ice and Fire, Will and Zeiler (With Paul from bearswarm) interviewed George R. R. Martin . Plus we share a little of what brought each of us to GoT LCG and the wonderful world of Westeros.

Enjoy

Great interview! I sent it to some non-card playing friends who like the book, and I also tweeted it to a couple people.

Also, the self introductions/personal histories of how you all got into the game were entertaining.

I was hoping iTunes would pick this one up automatically, but something is broken with it this time around. The URL iTunes has is wrong. Downloading from the website now. So much work! :P

My fault, this issue should be fixed. Just tested by repulling it in Itunes and it is working fine... curse my fat fingers gran_risa.gif

Enjoyed hearing about your experience with the books and the Martin interview. Another good episode.

That was a great interview of Martin. I have lost count of the number of Martin interviews I have listened to (10, 15?). In almost all of them, he sticks to the same talking points (Tyrion is his favorite character, the tale grew in the telling, he played superhero role playing games when he was younger etc. etc.), but you guys managed to get a fair amount of new information from him.

I have a request though - the next time you go up to Minnesota with a recording device, could you interview Nate, please?

Not only did we get new information, but I managed to outright stump him by not being able to ask an intelligible question! Lol.

Now, obviously, I can't promise anything this early, but yes, we very much want to get interviews with any of the FFG crew that work on the game. Geeze, it would be so awesome to interview Eric at some point. We need to remember that.

We will do our best. Speaking of, when was the last time we had a Designer Journal or article of some type from one of our designers?

With the announcement of the Secrets of Oldtown I think. I guess we'll get another one whenever they officially announce Queen of Dragons.

Just started listening to the podcasts (on my cutting-edge technology MP3 player...)

Anyway - really enjoy the shows, and the interview w/GRRM in particular. Keep up the great work!
