Noob Questions Please

By Awk, in StarCraft

So I just picked up the game and after going through the rules I wanted to confirm something.

When in combat I can I use a card from my hand to apply to a skirmish and then reinforce it with a card from the combat deck? If so what’s to prevent me from reinforcing all my skirmishes with cards directly from the combat deck and just taking my chances that they will be useful.

Also, how are people organizing all the pieces to the game? I’ve divided all the minis into zip lock bags but I’m not sure what to do with all the cards and cardboard pieces.

Thanks.

Hi,

If you play a combat card from hand you may only reinforce with a card from hand. If you random play a card from your combat deck you may not play a reinforcement card.

I am only in the possession of the main game and not jet the expansion. I have 6 organizer trays with 6 spaces each in which contain all the cardboard pieces of each fraction. The plastic ground Units are kept in the 2 cardboard boxes that came with the game. Than I have 3 plastic boxes for my flying units and the cards of each fraction are kept were there is space left.

I bagged everything - some of it with bags-within-bags systems, like every faction has a bag with stuff, in which there are a bag with modules, one with bases, and so on. Works fine for Starcraft, I think.

For Twilight Imperium, I got three of those organizer boxes you can buy for tools and whatnot, and made boxes for the cards that go into the expansion box, together with the map hexes and cardboard and some custom stuff. It looks like this:

Twilight Imperium organized

Something similar would work for Starcraft as well I'm sure, although it does have slightly fewer kinds of components (and bigger cards instead).

On a sidenote, the "bags-within-bags" system was taken to the extreme in my Descent, what with 2014 components lengua.gif

Those are all really good ideas to organize the many pieces found in this game. I think I’ll try and find a few tackle boxes/organizer. Thanks for the help.

I got my plastics in a large box' that all of them fit well. The cardboard for each faction i put inside a plastic bag. The misc cardboard i put in another bag. And the cards are just laying down inside the box.
