817.M41 - Which Characters are where?

By ak-73, in Deathwatch

819.M41 A percieved slight causes the Mortifactors and Crimson Fists to come to blows. Only a personal interessionby Marneus Calgar ends the dispute before it escalates to open war. The matter is kept from the attention of the Adeptus Terra.

934.M41 The Toran VI Massacres. The Crimson Fists defeat the warband of Chaos Lord Sathash the Golden

989.M41 Waagh! Snagrod rampages across the Loki sector, culminating in a devastating assault on Rynns World. The Crimson Fists chapter is left battered and bloodied, but determined to rebuild.

Current year is 999.M41

Kantor has been Chapter Master for just under 100 years, so 899.m41~ (roughly)

Service record goes back 250 years, so 749.m41~ is his induction (roughly)

Codex Space Marines (2008)

Therefore the chapter master of the CF is Visidar, the direct predecessor of Kantor, I would strongly assume. Master of Sanctity maybe is already High Chaplain Tomasi. Kantor himself has been a Marine for 200 years when he became chapter master. He is almost certainly Captain in 817.

The Legion of the Damned won't exist for another 100 years.

They are currently The Fire Hawks and will take part in teh Badab War.

As of 817, the Fire Hawks will almost certainly have the same Chapter master they had at the time of the Badab War. His name escapes me for the moment (I don't have the FW books to hand) but he was, by all accounts, a somewhat difficult character, who arguably was as responsible for the Badab war as Lufgt Huron.

A fire hawks marine would make for a fun DW character to roleplay, as they are pretty arrogant, aggressive, and have a fondness for massive overkill...

The characters of Eisenhorn and Ravenor could be alive.

Inquisitor Golesh Constantine Pheppos Heldane first appears as a young man in Xenos, where the year is 240.M41. His final appearance, and death, occur in 765.M41.

So he lived over 500 years, give or take some time due to the mysteries of warp travel.

With this in mind, whether any of the more noteable characters from Eisenhorn or Ravenor could be alive within the timeline of Deathwatch (or Dark Heresy, or Rogue Trader). Though it's most likely that only the really big players would merit the extensive measures required to live that long. Ravenor in his chair could probably pull it off with very little problem. Eisenhorn too. In fact, I was always under the impression that Inquisitor, where Eisenhorn makes an appearance, was set in the time of the tabletop game. If that is the case, he'd be about 800 years old.

You may find this timeline to be of assistance in placing canonical characters in the timeframe of your campaign - also here .

I like the layout of the Lexicanum's timeline more than the others I've seen posted - check it out here .
