Black Fire Pass!

By ffgfan, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Ok, so we had the demo adventure The Journey To Black Fire Pass last year, then we heard about it in the Shifting Through Shadows. There we could read only this about this expansion:

Explore the legendary location of Black Fire Pass through the eyes of the stout dwarfs. As a setting of constant turmoil, Black Fire Pass presents a deeper look into this important site.
Black Fire Pass introduces an in-depth look at dwarfs, with more information about their history and presence in the Old World. Including new careers, actions, location cards, and two rulebooks, Black Fire Pass expands the options available to players and GMs. In addition to showcasing dwarf technology and rune magic, this supplement also includes a full adventure that is set in this volatile location.

Also we know, that according to Amazon the expansion will be avaliable 19th April 2011. But when will we see something more? When will we see the official announcement and some pick from it with some more info about the content?

If we go back to the seminar from last year we can say more about this product. It will have:

- the are going to be 2 books in it (one about the Black Fire Pass, Dwarfs that live there and the other for GM with the adventure and some more detailed material)

- 10 new careers based on Dwarfs (one of them will be a Miner)

- Dwarf technology and Rune Magic

- price 39,95 $

So when will we see the announce of Black Fire Pass?

Probably once it is done being playtested. lengua.gif

they could send me one copy. I can playtest it :D

I was just wondering will we see in this Dwarf Book a chapter about the Grudges? There should be one about this importent aspect of a Dwarfs life.

For those of you that can get a hold of the warhammer supplement GRUDGELORE, it is a great tool for dwarf stuff.

On a related note, why is it that most dwarf products seem so dry and bleh? Is it because dwarfs tend to be so serious and structured that their accompanying products (any game system) seem the same way?

jh

Yes, I have Grudgelore and I readed a couple times to get in a good mood when I was playing a dwarf campain.

I would want to see more descrptive material on how Dwarfs view human society and the Empire. Dwarven community is closer to the Empire as it ever was, and at the same time they are still very reclusive. They are considered as Empire Citizens, but they don't have a sit on the Elector Council, while even Halflings have one! How do dwarfs see the Empire, not just stereotypical stuff, but complex, diverse views. How dwarfs who live in the Empire deal with Empire laws and customs? Much of the Empire was built or rebuilt by the dwarfs (see The Edge of Night), but how much the Dwarfs have put of themselves, for their use, in this? This kind of stuff.

Pedro, I think that we are going to get this Dwarf point of view. I must say that how the Dwarfs see the Empire and man is a importent thing. The Dwarfs are not like humans, they think in different aspects. So i think that the Black Fire Pass will bring many good stuff not only for Players but for a GM too.

I just hope that Ruenesmiths and Engineer career will be playable not lot it was in previous editions. I'm really excited what new Dwarf stuff we will get.

The release date is getting closer with every day so any day now we should see some news about it.

I hope you are right!

agreed about Runesmiths and specially engineers.

I wonder when we are going to hear more about this?

ffgfan: "I wonder when we are going to hear more about this?"

Not soon enough probably. Of all the products that have come out for WFRP 3rd edition, this is the one that has me itching. I really want to run a dwarf campaign. Hope a book for wood elves is being worked on too, but of course if they do one they will most likely just do one for all elves. Anyway yeah dwarfs rock. Karaz-a-Karak will never fall!

'Black Fire Pass' can't come soon enough as far as I am concerned. My group is currently in the Grey Mountains heading for Karak Azgaraz.

I'd like some information on the structure of society, clans, kings, lords etc. and additional careers. There's a dwarf bounty hunter in my group who is frustrated about the lack of options.

Omens Of War is now official - so the next big thing will be Black Fire Pass! Who knows - maybe next week we will see it annouced - I hope!

Can we have a pool about the careers?

My list:

Basic: Miner, Engineer, Runesmith Apprendice

Adv: Runesmith, Stoneshaper, Runelord, Dragon Slayer, IronBeard, Master Engineer, Daemon Slayer

...OR it could be the Rogue/Slaanesh supplement, which would round out the "Big 4."

Not that I wouldn't like to see both!

Yeah, except the theoretical Slaneesh supplement wasn't hinted at in the Shifting Shadows preview, it's merely inferred. We had the demo and pretty firm stuff for Black Fire Pass like, say, it's name, for a while now.

Not that I wouldn't prefer to have the last Ruinous Power set released next.... but I'd be way surprised. I just hope Omens of War gets here in time for my players to stop bitching that they don't have enough martial careers to advance into.

I think Slaanesh will be after Balck Fire Pass. I will be good to see it in Summer 2011 or after it maybe in September or October 2011.

Slaneesh supplement was hinted at in (at the very end of) the seminar Jay held at Gencon 2010. You can look at the video "A small but vicious seminar".

from what I gathered, it was in the early concept/design stages (at that point) and was planned for after Witches' Song, Omens of War, and Black Fire Pass. I don't know how much the newly released books+vaults have thrown off the timeframe.

I just looked at the Seminar one more time (I seen it couple of times) and Slaanesh is just mentioned at the end and it was just in the very very early state of development. I think that it was just the concept of such a expansion at that poiont.

I You looks at the publishing line You will see that after every sourcebook (like Omens Of War or Signs Of Faith) cames a adventure (like The Witch's Song or The Edge Of Night). So after the Omens Of War will be an adventure - Black Fire Pass. So Slaanesh will come after it and I think it will be not sooner then in August 2011. Look at the publishing line - Omens of War will come in Spring (so not sooner then at the end of April or in my opinion in May) then after a month or two we will see Black Fire Pass.

The best change in the adventure that are now coming, starting from The Witch's Song, is the fact that they have a lot of new stuff in it now only an adventure. The Witch's Song gives us Witches and Warlocks after this Black Fire Pass will give us more Dwarf careers and importent information about Dwarfs society.

We got another preview of Omens Of War and what about Black Fire Pass? When we will see it?

From the omens of war preview we can guess the dwarf hammer will with make that or this box set..

A small tad bit atleast...

Omens Of War just hit the boat and is traveling to stores. Can't wait for it but what about Black Fire Pas? When it will be annouced?

Most likely some time after OoW is out. They seem to be announcing books closer to their release.
