There have been a few ideas i've been kicking around for a campaign I hope to be starting soon and I would like to get some feed back.
1. I find that one of the hardest things to come up with is a good reason for why all of my players have come together. So, I thought, why bother. I was going to have each person come up with their own back story for their character, rewarding effort with some additional xp, and have them start as a drawn up team ala mission impossible style. I was planning on allowing them the creativity, within reason, of how they came to meet their Inquisitor, what he looks like, their short past, etc.etc.etc. From this I was going to take bits and pieces to work back against each of them in future story lines and add a little uncertanty amongst the group as to who the Inquistitor really is (they each come up with their own version/appearance/personality of him/her from their ONE chance meeting.) I could further use this as plot material for an intrigue style campaign as they try to find out/learn/suspect/fear/believe/know of the inquisitor...... Along with background on their characters it will allow me to add to it as I see fit. Meaning who might be the most likely to be harbouring that deamon inside and not know it, is one of them acctually the Inquisitor?, reasons they may survive against insurmountable odds......
2. Using cell phones to text "Inquisitorial messages" to them between sessions to pique their interest an lend an air of informants giving information. Not to mention add a bit more paranoia into the game. (voices in their head, you notice so and so doing this, for a moment you could have sworn you saw your Inquisitor following you, stuff like that.
3. Having the players a some point being sucked into a warp rift, entering into a "dark and gritty, dark age world where monsters and magic run wild" aka Warhammer fantasy. There they would take on the lives of adventurers trying to get home. Will they have to sell their souls to chaos to return, will they overpower and try to dominate with the knowledge they have, or continue on the path of the righteous Inquisition.
Like I said, these are but a few Ideas that I have.
Please let me know what you think and any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism would be appreciated.
Thanks,
