Full Auto Burst in Dark Heresy different to RT or DW?

By Longgrim, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

In Rogue Trader and Deathwatch 'Full Auto Burst' has the following rule at the end:

A Charcter Using this action with a Pistol- or Basic-class weapon may also move up to his Agility Bonus in meters. However, if he does so, he gains no bonus to his Ballistic Skill Test and instead suffers a -10% Penalty.

Semi Auto Burst has a similar rule as well.

My Question: Does this apply in Dark Heresy? -& if so where is the Errata for it (I looked for it in the DH Errata and had no luck)

Thanks.

Not by RAW, no. Some apply it as a house rule/optional rule. TBH I think it isn't bad. For example moving from short range to point blank range to get off a FA burst there actually causes you to lose 10% bonus. +50 is normal at point blank range with full auto, but since the weapon recieves a net -30 the benefit is less than at short range (+10%+FA 20%).

So it seems to me the tradeoff outweighs benefits, thus it is pretty well balanced but allows for some more flexibility.

As Friend of the Dork said, not by RAW.

I do, however, think that this rule is needed in DH because of the deadly combat. This rule would allow acolytes to both keep firing at the enemy and advance to cover (or do a tactical retreat).

I´m all for any rule that takes DH further from:
Player 1: I attack!
GM: He dodges...
Player 1: I attack!
GM: He dodges...

etc etc etc.

Yeah I have dismissed it before because I thought it could be abused, but the -10 and SA/FA bonus makes it much more balanced that I originally thought.

In DW it seems kinda broken with the super armor devestator that can fire FA at no penalty, get +20% bonus and still move 5 meters every round. What's the point of Tactical Marines mobility when the Devestators can do that?

Personally I don't like this rule. I always felt that it is better being forced to make the choice between moving and taking that devestating attack. You make movement appealing by making it obvious that not doing so is going to be deadly and by breaking lines of sight.

Eh, it depends really. If the player is near cover already they can just dive into cover as a Dodge-10 and take full advantage of the full auto, depending on the dice gods. I like it because its an extra little way of getting around the battle field, and by memory you don't get the bonuses of firing in those modes.. Which help limit the hits ;P

You dont get the Full/Semi auto bonus and in the case of Full Auto an additional -10 applies.

I like the changes myself and gonna try them in DH.
