An oddball question....

By KidChainsaw, in Tannhauser

I'm curious -- which of the Tannhauser releases were actually developed by TOY and published by FFG, and which were developed by FFG from the start? Given that, anyone know what might be next after Hoss?

Aside from the Revised Rules, currenty all the Tannhauser stuff is from TOY, except Daedalus which is about 50/50 TOY, FFG.

The last four figures were developed by TOY but it is hard to know how much of the original TOY material was kept by FFG, beyond the art and figures of course.

The Equipment Cards will be the second release exclusive to FFG, with little or no TOY imput.

There's no real info on what will be released after Hoss, but here are some possibilities:

Reich:

Freya von Karloff

Baron von Karloff

Behemoth

Panzertruppen

Frankenstal Golem

Union:

Sako Aponi

Drake Harrison

Major General Edison

Omega Commandos

Hurricane (troopers)

Flying Tigers (troppers)

Matriarchy:

Phantom Division "ORB"

Strelsky Troopers

Battle Armor Vetchorka

Battle Armor Poloutnotchka

I appolgize for any spelling errors in advanced.

That's a lot of potential releases....care to elaborate or post a link for more info?

A lot of this is from Tannhauser Field Ops the Tannhauser card game, that FFG has said it most likely won't rerelease.

Reich:

Freya von Karloff : Sniper w' night vision, and "evil eye" from Field Ops (FO), married to Baron Karloff

Baron von Karloff : Half man half machine, with an anti-aircraft cannon as an arm, from FO.

Behemoth : Biblical demon enslaved by the Reich, from FO.

Panzertruppen : "Armored trooper", half machine soldiers of the Reich's Esiendivision, they're "suicide bombers", from FO.

Frankenstal Golem : Giant mutant creations of the Esiendivision, part machine, but mostly big, bigger than Asteros, from FO.

Union:

Sako Aponi : Tala's cosin, more diciplined, Union officer, master of the Navajo Ghost Dance, from FO.

Drake Harrison : Guy from FO with a flamethrower.

Major General Edison : Son of Pres. Edison, and commander of the 42nd MSF Division, his weapon is the BFG.

Omega Commandos : mentioned in the Union Troop Pack fluff, close combat experts.

Hurricane (troopers) : Troopers with jet packs, from FO and mentioined in some fluff.

Flying Tigers (troppers) : The 101st Airborne, shown parachuting into battle on their FO card.

Matriarchy:

Phantom Division "ORB" : From the TOY version of the Novogorod manual, some sort of sniper.

Strelsky Troopers : From the TOY version of the Novogorod manual, standard footsoldiers of Russia, Strelsky means shooters.

Battle Armor Vetchorka : From the TOY version of the Novogorod manual, the second Zor'ka style god/combat armor.

Battle Armor Poloutnotchka : From the TOY version of the Novogorod manual, the third god/combat armor.

Do a Google image search for, "Tannhauser Field Ops" and you can find some pictures.

Look here for the stuff from the French Novogorod manual: www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp .

Hope that helps. I'll be posting a more detailed blog article on all this later.

Sweet!! Some of those obviously wouldn't be workable for something on Tannhauser's scale but the rest....well let's just say that I'm personally hoping for Matriarchy Troopers that aren't just homicidal lightning rods.

Of course the Equipment cards seem more like a final endcap release than anything else.

thanks for the blog post! never got field ops as i was waiting for an english release and its characters sound interesting for tannhauser gran_risa.gif I always felt like the Reich needed an actual demon...hello Behemoth!

so when they bought the tannhauser IP rights, did it include Field Ops then?

As far as I know the Tannhauser IP included Field Ops, but FFG said they are not going to continue it's development. Also as far as I know the IP included the never released Cerberus, which is I believe a more Descent like dungoen crawler, based in the Tannhauser universe, but I can't confirm these ruomrs.

They need to make Freya Von Karloff, because if I have to make her- it's not going to look as good or be game-balanced in any way.

panzertroopers sound insanely awesome too.

The possibility of getting Cerberus is one of the key reasons I am emotionally invested in Tannhäuser. Cerberus is about a 1930's raid on a Russian research facility. I would be ok if they recycled some of the Arkham Investigators for this to save money. I want that look back in the Tannhäuser past.

One way I think they could speed development of Ceberus, is to use several of the current Tannhauser characters, and sell the game with Arkaham style cardboard-cutout-pawns, and If you own the figures from the other Tannhauser games you could use them instead. Just a thought.
