A ? in a stat field means the worst possible outcome for that character, so harder they fall would definitely work.

As for the R, because of the ??s, let's say it matches criteria for the 2nd half, and give an example.

Your opponent's attack starts at 6 damage.

They enhance to add 4 damage.

You respond, originally this would return it to 6 instead, but now it halves it: 6+4/2 =5.
