Ideas for a 3rd branch to Tech Priest...

I'm looking into possibly adding a 3rd branch to the Tech-priest tree that is slightly more 'shooty' than the original two under the guise of a Tech Guard / Skitarii officer or liason. Seeing as the AdMech cogboys are usually pretty light on the fluff side of things, anyone have any knowledge or opinions that would nix or support this idea? I've got a few players that are pretty into the W40k world and I'm trying to not break immersion too badly, if at all.

Primarily looking for input to make this more interesting/doable... suggestions for skills/talents/implants, etc would be welcome as well.

Have you checked the Secutor alt rank? Page 68 of IHB. Its probably exactly what you are after since it turns them into walking weapons platforms.

Skitarrii soldiers and officers would best be covered by Guardsman or Adept with the addition of some cybernetics and a few talents.

Skills wise, I'd agree. I figured that fluff-wise, the ranks of the Skitarii officer corps would be pulled from the more militant tech priest lines.

Skitarii:

Start with Guardsman, change starting skills packages to replace any IG based skills/talents with AM equivalents. Take any fear resistance, chemgeld, etc talents you can get your chrome fingers on. Pile on as many augmetics as your GM allows. Replace the trusty Lasgun with a combat shotgun or hellgun. Wear red robes over your red flak armour. Ask GM about "elite advance" for implanted armour trait.

I would not allow someone to do this prior to about level 5 unless you have Battle Sisters or something of equavalent wargear stomping around. Of course, the GM is free to slip "bonus" implants or "drama augmentation circuits" into your mindwiped chassis... demonio.gif

You know when I mentioned N0-1_H3r3's excellent Skitarii work I totally forgot to mention the Mechanicus Secutor alternate career rank presented in The Inquistor's Handbook. It model's Magos Militant's perfectly.
