targaryen characters not in the LCG / ties between houses targ and greyjoy

By finitesquarewell, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

just, uh, for curiosity's sake, i have two questions for you geeky gentlemen:

(1) what are some of the targ characters from the books currently not represented in the LCG? they don't have to be big name characters, and i'm looking for a list that doesn't dip too far into the "legendary realm"

(2) beyond the as of yet largely undefined "dragon chasing" plot thread, are there any nedly ties between houses targaryen and greyjoy? it's okay to include the eras of conflict during the reigsn of the few previous targaryen kings here, but not so far back as, say, the tale of harren the black

thanks guys gui%C3%B1o.gif

1) Grey Worm has no LCG version yet. Willem Darry, former master-at-arms of the Red Keep, smuggled Dany and Viserys out of Westeros. The three handmaidens, Irri, Jhiqui, and Doreah (though I don't suppose they make for very heroic cards). A bunch of knights from the old Kingsguard.

The problem with Dany-era Targaryen characters is that we meet a lot of people in Dany's journey, but very few of them are on her side. Mirri Maz Duur. Those blue-lipped wizards.

2) I'm not sure we learn of any other ties/conflicts between Targaryen and Greyjoy, but perhaps somebody else remembers something I don't.

minor spoiler alert

for the gj/targ vconnection you could look into the future a little and a do somehting along the lines with Euron's plans tto marry danny 9or steal thedragoins) or victiron's counter plans to steal danny for himself while bringing her to euron.

Thinking of new champ card ideas are we?

Spoilers:

A couple of thoughts on characters, you have the translator turned handmaid "Missandei" and also the butcher king of Astapor "Cleon the great", who took over from her when she left, even though she does not condone what he is doing, he claims to be of alliance to her sending her gifts and such.

As for connections those two mentioned are the only two I know of sorry.

One of the characters from that time that is rumored to have a big part in future books is Jon Connington.

Didn't he drink himself to death according to Jaime?

presumed

The idea that Connington will be a part of the ongoing story comes from a prophecy to Dany, talking about those that would gather around her, including the Griffin, the Lion, the Young Sun, etc. The Griffin is assumed to be Connington (pretty much the only House that has a griffin in its arms).

OK The Targ Alliance stuff is mostly found at the end of the third and fourth books... so yeah SPOILERS.

So ideas for Targ alliance characters:

There is no targ aligned Magister Illyrio.

Victarion, Varys, Tyrion, Quentyn are all going towards Dany. Melisandre is trying to raise a dragon, and the asshai have been trying to get Dany to go to them.

Considering that some of this information comes from the Dance preview chapters... it's not likely that FFG will say print a Targ version of Tyrion.

FFG has printed the horn of dragons, and the T/G card Dragon Chaser.

I did notice something else: They have not printed a LCG version of Qotho

Or Haggo.

I always thought Oznak xo Pahl was amazing. No LCG card thus far, though more of a Targ encounter than a Targ loyalist...

Spoiler here: http://www.towerofthehand.com/reference/k/00399/index.html

Euron can bind Dragons to his will with a magic horn, the use of which he demonstrated at the Kingsmoot. He dispatched Vicarion to fetch him some dragons.

As Ktom pointed out, Dany's handmaidens, Doreah, Irri, and Jhiqui have no LCG cards.

The other omission is Quaro (the 4th of Dany's Khas) - who has never had a card, and seems to be easily forgotten.

There are also Drogo's Bloodriders (Cohollo, Quotho, Haggo) - but, I personally believe it would be more appropriate to make them nuetral.

I knew this topic would get the LOB out! :)

I always figured Daenery's handmaidens were all covered by the non-unique from the core set since they don't really do anything special. No reason to make a nedly card for characters that don't do much of anything in the books.

Yea, good point; I always wondered why her card wasn't Ygritte instead, at least she had some bearing on the story.

I like having the minor characters in unique form (i.e. WHERE IS HOT PIE?!?). Fans of the books love seeing minor characters IMHO. I like having Val (although would love Ygrette as well).
