New Adventure Card
Hahaha that's pretty funny. I know a lot of people are in a world of hurt everywhere but a little levity can be had.
Too realistic for Talisman.

Agreed! The card is too much like real life. I don't want to be reminded of how screwed up the economy is during a game of talisman.
It's amusing... but I partially agree with others. There was an old 2nd edition card dealing with Taxes. And maybe there's a way to turn this card more thematic.
"Levy" - the king's army is preparing for war. Pay three gold or 1 Follower (drafted, discard)... or Lose a life for insolence.
"Property Levy" - For 3 turns, anyone entering the City, Chapel, Tavern, or Village must pay 1 gold or be ousted (back one space along your move and encounter that space instead).
I know the first one is way off the intent... but... well it's just another notion that came to mind.
...and don't forget that FFG uses the "small tail" version of the letter R, as did Black Industries.
I'm not sure why as I think the flowing tail of the R and K add to the fantasy feel. Plus it is very piratey!
I usually have to use Character Map to get it to appear as the font I uploaded has it as the "Registered" symbol!
I've highlighted the keystrokes you need to display it, but I generally just paste it in.
To be honest, it was just a bit of fun in these gloomy times. I think I used the wrong term anyway, it should have been 3 rounds rather than turns ?
Was just trying out TI's template and thought I would some up with something topical. I toyed with the idea of an Exchequer character as well... ;-)
I could not find the short tailed R - Registration mark, great - will have to work out how to get that on the mac.
Not actually played for real in many years but have convinced the wife to play tonight - going to dust off the old 2nd edition to see if she likes it and I may get 4.5 ed - Wish me luck....
TOAD ! TOAD ! TOAD !
Oh - and did you get the joke in the graphic ?
That is the graveyard picture - Re-Possessed - weak I know!
Nice. Very funny. Though I do have to agree with others in that I don't think I want to use the card as it'd be a bit depressing maybe, lol.
Still funny though.
Speaking of homeade cards:
Hey TI, is there any chance you will be updating some of your homeade expansions to the new card templates sometime? Your Wooden Weapons expansion and stuff like that "trapped by warlocks" card you made after the Big Bang Theory episodes are awesome. I wish I could use em in 4.5.
Yes, I will be making updated versions of the small expansions I made for 4th Edition. Wooden Weapons will need to be altered a little now seeing as the Weapon keyword has been added.
I'll have to think of a different way to let people like the Monk & Co. use weaponry! But for now -

Sweet! Thanks man. Lol, I love that card. Can't wait to see the other ones once they're updated at some point.
I've just added a page to the site to give a little (very little) help to those using the templates I put online.

If you can think of anything else I should add, just let me know.
Hey Talismanisland,
How about magic objects that can only be used by certain characters? Example- The Staff of God- Magic Object- The staff of god can only be touched by the Preist and Monk- Add 1 to all attack rolls. This way it can be destroyed by a spell, but not stolen by another character. To me, the hardest part is maintaining the balance.
Creating cards specific to only certain characters is a bad idea. It is inherently unbalancing to the game and violates its innate mechanics. The only limitation built into the game to limit characters in object use is Alignment. There's nothing inherent about being titled religiously that can be justified in this way. Stick to creations that deal with character attributes, not titles, for the other complication comes when new similar archetypally created characters come in down the line, and suddenly other cards have to the be changed, FAQed, errata-ed, etc.

Once again, very nicely done! Should be very helpful to those attempting their first creations and/or not fully familiar with all of Photoshops ins and outs.
Inspired by others here and the new card templates, I've begun trying to work out how to create my fist meager expansion for the Adventure deck. I'm placing my thoughts into my LiveJournal if anyone is curious. In kind, I'm wondering how some of you veterans at this go about creating many of the expansions still available for 2nd edition (and coming for 4th). Just curious if there's anything I may have overlooked.
For that matter, it might even be nice to use this topic (or create a new one) where everyone continues to debut new works. I think many would enjoy that, including devotees who don't make fan creations.
This is my first attempt at creating a card. It should only be used if your using the Reaper. I wanted a card out there that would force you to confront the Reaper with a penality. Also, by being a place, it might be possible through spells and what not to send your opponents there.
I also like the idea of having a card that happens to all the players in a space. So you choose not to fight your opponent on that space, but instead you drew a card. Well you might all pay for that now.
Very cool! Very dangerous place and unfortunately this is the problem too. You have to think how to encourage players to visit it. Maybe changing the second rule is the answer.
Agreed, it will be avoided at all costs. There's nothing of benefit, no chance to overcome the deficits, and the deficits are increased in encountering the Reaper. If a spell comes up to destroy Places, this card would always get removed first. However... here's a suggestion.
If a character lands here, roll 1d6: 1-3 and the Repear moves here to attack all characters present. Skip the -1 for characters and simply make all Characters lose a life. It's bad enough that the Repear is now relocated, and on any movement roll is close enough that it might follow them easily.
If not the Repear doesn't show up...then maybe characters could pray here like the Graveyard with an slightly higher chance of gaining a benefit. That might attract some players to risk it... and truly make some new spice for the game.
Also, you could re-write the card so that it could be used with or without the Reaper. Something like...
"Roll 1d6; on 1-3, lose a life, on 4-6, you may invoke the Spirits; if the Repear is in play, move it here anytime a character lands on this card."
Then include roll table for Invoke.
I wrote "invoke" to avoid characters using this space for "pray", and the card is not alignment dependent. The board's graveyard with that "pray" tweak and alignment limitation is enough for the game.
If I remember right from reading about the Reaper elsewhere, that -1 seems nothing more than increased chance to kill a character complete in one fell swoop. Even with any of the changes sugested for benefits, that is too much. Not only is it over-gunned, and if characters ever failed to avoid the card, it will simply make the game longer with players having to re-spawn characters from scratch.

Very good point. I had more of the Raider's card in mind when I came up with this. Yes, it will be avoided, but that means you can't go that way on the roll.
It is cool getting feedback on this. Thanks.
