Just ordered a box of Iron Throne Legacy Packs: what can I expect?

By Eldil, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hello everybody:

As the subject line says, I just ordered a box of 10 Iron Throne Legacy Packs. According to the website, each pack contains: "45 reprinted historically significant cards from the Westeros block" and "10 new cards (iron throne)."

I ordered the box on a whim--everything else I have is from the LCG, and I've never played legacy. I was hoping that the packs might contain...

a) basic income/discount cards: I have three core sets, but I have two friends with one core set each, and I know that basic income/discount locations can run just a little slender when building a full 60-card deck. Can I hope to pull any basic income/discount locations, so I can share them with my friends? (streets, crossroads, seas, fiefdoms, halls, etc)

b) a wide range of cool cards for legacy play: I've never built a legacy deck before, but I hope I wind up with a broad assortment of cards to use. in general, how strong were the iron throne and westeros block cards?

Has anyone bought a legacy pack, and can confirm the kind of contents I should expect?

Thanks in advance,

Eldil

I hope you got it on the cheap. Its the same 45 cards in each legacy pack. There are some okay cards in the pack, not sure if there is anything usuable for LCG.

What the legacy pack was meant for at the time it came out was a quick and easy way to get multiple copies of staple things like paper shield which you wanted 3x in eveyr deck without having to buy the blind random booster packs. It did introduce a few new cards, nothign earth shattering though.

You won't get any basic resources in the "Legacy Pack." They are basically cool, memorable or interesting cards from each of the various houses that were re-introduced into the CCG "Standard" game in the ITE "new card format."

Many of the cards in the pack have already been reprinted into the LCG.

Sigh. Oh well. Caveat emptor, I suppose. I only paid ten bucks, so it's not great loss. Failing all else, it'll be nice to have some cards we can write on to serve as proxies.

Thanks for the responses.

You could always order some old booster packs from one of the cheap sites, then hold a sealed/booster event where you each participant gets 4-5 boosters plus the Legacy pack to build from.

Back when the Legacy Pack came out, we did something, and even implement a "trading" aspect so people could customize their decks.

i don tthink thats such a big loss. there are many cards in the ITE Legacy pack that have been reprinted in the LCG environment.

for example 10x Milk of the Poppy is worth 10 bucks on its own ...
