Quick question which I'm sure will get a quick answer! For the Deep Ones Rising track, I know that if it's blocked by an elder sign, or a Great Seal, or even Kate Winthrop, you add a token. Do you also add a Deep One token for Monster surges? At least, when a gate SHOULD open on the Woods, but there's already a gate there (not because the Mythos says "Monster Surge"). Thanks!

Nope, monster surges don't add a Deep One token.

Monster surges don't block a gate from opening: they cause an alternate effect.

I figured as such, but wanted to be sure. I got a few monster surges when I used Dagon and Hydra. Even though I beat Nyarly in final combat, anyway, I wanted to be sure it wouldn't have ended prematurely!
