Question concerning Rapid Fire

By Graf, in WFRP Rules Questions

The action card Rapid Fire allows multiple shots with a ranged weapon in one turn – especially in reckless stance.

However, do you have to spend additional manoeuvres (and maybe stress) to reload your bow/crossbow or is reloading in the action card "included"?

It's included. Just remember the update. Maximum 3 shots on reckless side.

Seeing as crossbow has reload trait, and bow doesn't, I'd say in order to rapid fire with crossbow you'd need to burn fatigue to reload each time.

Besides, I can't really picture rapid fire with a crossbow, but after seeing LotR we all know rapid fire with longbow is totally realistic.

But what does the card say? If it says "Bow" then you can't use it with a crossbow. If it says "Bow or crossbow", then it can and unless the card states otherwise, it's the same rules.

Just checked the card. It says "Bow or repeating ranged weapon". The card can't be used with a crossbow.

Okay if the card says, then no discussion. But even if it didn't say so, I'd let common sense rule... Shooting fast with a bow is one thing, a crossbow is something different.

And if you could with a crossbow, you could also do it with a blackpowder weapon.

I know the rule says so, but sometimes it's also okay to stop and think "Does this seem reasonable?"

Yes of course, but it's not an issue because only bows and the repeating weapons can be used (repeating pistol for instance). I don't want to go into a debate about "IF the card allowed crossbows" partido_risa.gif

hehe, this card btw, is one huge reason to chose longbow as your weapon of choice...

Pistol for looking awesome (everybody in their right mind wants a pistol in wfrp...), longbow for killing stuff happy.gif

Exactly. The longbow is great. The pistol isn't bad though for other cards like sniper shot.

No no, you use pistol so you can say: "I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire a shot or none at all?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a pistol of Dwarven craft, the most powerful handgun in the Empire, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?"

While being silly, I'd still add 4 fortune dice to intimidate roll after that cool.gif

Hehe nice one. It should be a bounty hunter named Klint Ostwald.
