A couple questions about the personal story cards...

By Tom O' Bedlam, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I was reading over the Personal Story cards and noticed a few problems:

Two of the characters, if they fail, become Devoured with their characters becoming Deep Ones and also raising the Deep One Track by one. But what do you do if you aren't using the Innsmouth Board and/or Deep One monsters?

I also found at least two other characters that, if they fail, you are to draw Injury/Madness cards. Again. what do you do if you aren't using or don't have the expansion that has those cards?

I was also hoping someone could better explain how the AO Zhar's attack works in regards to the Zhar token, how does one get it, when do they, what happens when they do and how does it get passed one. I found the wording on his card to be a little confusing.

Thanks, everyone!

Facepalm yourself for having IH but not using it lengua.gif. Also, no reason really not to use the Deep Ones, just throw everything you can into the monster cup.

Can't recall who the other is, but Jenny Barnes's PS fail gives you a choice, leave the card in play or take a Madness. If you don't have DH, then you leave the card in play (for the mentioned -2 Max Sanity). If you have DH, again, no reason not to use Injury/Madness.

Round 1:

Investigators attack

Zhar attacks (First Player gets Zhar token)

Round 2:

Investigators attack (FP can only use 1 hand)

Zhar attacks, FP devoured (FP token passes)

Round 3:

Investigators attack

Zhar attacks (First Player gets Zhar token)

and so on.

With the Innsmouth Look failures, add a Deep One to the board. If you're not using Innsmouth, clearly, you don't raise the track. But, the sucker became a Deep One, so put a Deep One on the board!

With Injury/Madness failures, the only ones I know of give you an option of taking the relevant card or lowering your maximum. I think that this was a deliberate wording, to accommodate those who did not have Injury/Madness card (so you must lower your maximum).
