The preview for The Witch's Song shows Breath of Aramar as vs. Target Defense (WP), if so is this opposed (WP)? or vs. Defense as combat actions? Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm trying to absorb the rules at the moment and this confused me. Thanks in advance for any clarifications.
Just a quick question...
No answers so far? Am I reading something wrong? Please, help a confused beginner. ![]()
Yes, it should be an opposed check.
Yeah, very nice spell. This is one my players will experience at some point
Thanks. What confused me is that it's not Discipline (which could make it easier for someone to defend, if they have it trained, etc.) as in some cases and on the other hand it cannot really be normal defense, since it says WP. Now it's clear.

I think it is an opposed check, but instead of adding misfortune dice for skill training, you simply add misfortune dice for defence on top of the opposed difficulty.
Strange though, because nothing in the rules touches on this, but perhaps it will be mentioned in tWS.

Ah, so it is unusual. I even wondered if this might simply be a misprint of either "Discipline" or Defense without (WP), but now I agree this might be an additional version of opposed check.
