Drusian Marches

By Magnus Grendel, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Planning on running an Ascension-level campaign in and around the Drusian Marches sub and Port Wander - essentially a bunch of (suspiciously effective) pirates interdicting the various trade vessels passing back and forth through. Despite their best efforts, and reinforcement from the sector fleet, the Navy hasn't been able to achieve much, leaving the unpalatable choice of allowing the continued predation and hence increasing isolation of Port Wander, drawing down further from the sector battlefleet, or interrupting the flow of reinforcements to the "Margin Crusade". Instead, they've gone with the least palatable choice of all; admit the problem is out of control and ask the Holy Ordos for help...

The plot and location are because a couple of people who want to bring in Rogue Trader characters rather than Dark Heresy, and they'll be representing people sent back to Calixis to "deal with the matter before it affects the dynasty's bottom line". Plus it has enough frontier worlds to justify some hidden pirate bases.

I'm looking for background info on the area - I know there's a navy base marked on the map, so there'll be a sub-sector battlefleet based there, but I didn't know if either the local commander, or the lord-governor subsector (does Calixis have such things?) have ever been mentioned.

Also, is there an identified sub-sector capital (equivalent of Malfi)? There are a couple of hive worlds, but I don't know much about them. Sentinal seems the obvious place in terms of the subsector's name, but I don't know if it's heavily settled enough to act as an administry world.

Essentially, any references are good!
