my question is on page 28 Inquisitor Karkalla says "Stop the Heron Mask, and burn my body, unsafe
otherwise… May the Emperor make you a vessel of his wrath…" why burn the body?

Perhaps he feared that with an intact body the Pilgrims of Hayte would use blasphemous sorcery to question his spirit and/or bind a daemonic entity in his corpse.
